About
The outdoors and education have always been my passion. Growing up in Charleston, South Carolina I spent countless hours in the inland waterways, enchanted by the creatures and their habitats. While earning a degree in Biology from the College of Charleston, I interned at Barrier Island Eco Tours as a naturalist, teaching groups about our precious tidal salt marsh ecosystems. I joined Barrier Island Eco Tours full time after graduation and over the next 16 years I found pure joy in educating thousands of kids and adults while also earning my Master Captains license.
When my husband and I welcomed our girls into the world, everything changed. Our girls started to grow into strong willed little sponges, interested in everything outdoors. They inspired me to focus on ways to empower women and girls of all ages. Naturally, my passion for empowering women and girls merged with my love for the water and led to the creation of Golden Girls Outdoors.
Golden Girls Outdoors focuses on creating unique and engaging experiences for women and girls. Whether you're learning to drive a boat for the first time, brushing up on your boating skills, or want to take a private charter cruising through the back creeks, my goal is to provide you with experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
When Iām not guiding lessons or adventures on the water I can be found picking up trash in a local waterway, hanging outside with girlfriends or exploring the outdoors with my family.
